Valentine’s Day
Why do we celebrate Valentine’s Day? Where did it originate from, do you ever ask yourself that? Why that patron Saint who is literally shrouded in mystery?
Well, Valentine’s Day contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman traditions. Meaning it has been going on for a very long time. There are many folklore stories about St. Valentine, but according to one, and frankly my favorite, an imprisoned Valentine fell in love with the jailor’s daughter. As legend has it, right before his death he wrote a letter to his daughter and he signed it: “from your Valentine.” An expression that we still use today.
Most importantly, all the stories portray him as a sympathetic, heroic, and romantic figure, during a not so friendly time. By the Middle Ages, St. Valentine became one of the most popular Saints in England and France.
Today, we have all been guilty of scrolling through our phone photos on every anniversary and birthday to find a decent selfie of the two of you together, and settling for that outdated, distorted image. Maybe you are dating someone special, are engaged, or even married your sweetheart. Instead of giving each other chocolate that we eat with guilt, and evaporates in a heartbeat, invest in that relationship with something permanent. Something that you will cherish for a lifetime. Give each other a romantic couple's portrait which breathtakingly decorates the room and shows off the love you have for each other.
Let’s be all dressed up, do a couple’s shoot at Studio 10 and you two hit the town afterwards for a romantic dinner and drinks.
